What To Expect When You Get A Water Softener

Before we had our water softener installed, our bath time looked like that dog avoiding the bath.  Our fixtures were corroding, dishes spotty, skin drying, etc.  so we decided to have the water softener installed to fix these problems.

We got our softener installed on a Thursday afternoon.  We anxiously waited for the soft water to kick in.  We noticed the cold water being soft first, but our hot water heater was still full of hard water.  After a few days of running our dishwasher, doing some hot loads of laundry, and taking showers, the soft water was finally noticeable by Monday.  There are only two in our household, so if you have more people in your house, my guess is that it will kick in faster.

So now we enjoy nearly spotless glasses out of the dishwasher, cleaner water fixtures, and softer skin after a shower.  It seems to take less effort to clean things with water, too.

The upkeep on the softener isn't bad.  We expect to use about a bag of salt per month.  We use solar salt because it's a natural-type of softener salt.  Larger families will use more.  The salt usage depends on how much water is used.

Now we enjoy bath day, like the bunny in the picture.

If you don't have a softener already, contact us to set up an appointment to have yours installed!  We have rental options and our famous no-finance charge Rent-To-Own payment options.
