If you live in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, you received the following notice in your water bill.
Generally, it says that there was a Maximum Contaminant Level of Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM), a byproduct of water disinfection. The sampling occurred over 12 months, an average was taken, and from there the violation levels were determined.
This is not an emergency situation, but drinking water containing high levels of the contaminate can lead to serious health problems if used over a long period of time. The city is working to remedy the problem.
Right within this notice, it states that a reverse osmosis system is effective in removing TTHMs.
